Hey Beauties
Today I have yet another review for you from one of the
newer releases from the drugstore. This has been a hyped, well sought after
product, and of course, the popular. I’m talking about the new Vivids lipsticks
from Maybelline. What makes this so popular that everyone is running out to
snatch up these beauties? Well… as you will see in the photos below, Maybelline
has come up with 10 bold, neon colors. These are shades you typically see with
higher end brands, but as we have seen in the last couple of years, drugstore
makeup brands have been upper the game, and definitely as beauty addicts, we’re
all for a good deal.
If you go back to my
haul post from last month, you know I purchased three of them, but I have since
bought three more. I know, I know….I have problems. I have more than enough
lipsticks in my collection, but who can past this up.I don’t
know what it is, but I have been reallt attracted to bold lips lately. I guess
I have broken out of my comfort zone when it comes to bright colors and knowing
have to wear them with eye makeup. I wanted to go ahead and
review these ASAP. I mention in my haul that everything was permanent, but now
I’m hearing that these are limited edition; however; at this point, I’m not
sure so I decided to post this now so hopefully to will help you decide if
these are right for you.

As you can tell from my excitement, I AM IN LOVE!!! Like I said,
these are not colors you see in the drugstore. Sure there are SOME bright
beautiful colors from the other brands BUT not this bright, this NEON. This is
what Maybelline had to say about their lipsticks on their website:
Now bright
goes gorgeous, never garish. Brighter color from our exclusive vivid pigments. Creamier
feel from nourishing honey nectar.
WHY they say you’ll
love it:
Be bright and
gorgeous.
-- Exclusive
Vivid colors are brighter
-- Honey
nectar formula nourishes lips
FOR BEST RESULTS
Apply lipcolor starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the
center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth.
Then glide across the entire bottom lip.
This is a product that when you see the lipstick, you
think “Wow, that’s bold”. The packaging is absouletly attention grabbing with
its NEON orange transparent, sleek tube and stands out of the selves, you can’t
miss it. And the actually product, it
packs a punch with a burst of color but yet it’s still very wearable. It could
have been a product that could have been a real let down. What I mean by that
is…. It’s pretty to look at but what if it had been dry and had poor
pigmentation? Could you imagine the huge let down. Well… I’m happy to report
that it’s none of the that, but let’s break this down to of course pros and
cons:
Pros:
-
Glides on easily, creamy
-
Applies opaque
-
Great pigmentation
-
Lasts 6 hours (for me)
-
Great shade selection
-
Doesn’t bleed on lips
-
Moisturizing (for first 3 hours)
-
Gloss finish
-
Leaves a stain after a couple of hours
-
Affordable ($5-6)
Cons:
-
It loses it moisture feeling after 3 hours
(for me, but my lips have been dry lately)
-
Although opaque, can emphasize dry lips
Although there are a few cons, you can see you should be
able to easily work your way around those issues.
So, next we’ll get on with the exciting part……..SWATCHES!!!!!!
